    The goal Toward the end of the course, students should be able to translate simple literary texts.
    The outcome Upon course completion, students should be able to understand differences in the ways textual cohesion is achieved in English and their mother tongue, recognize translation problems and provide solid arguments for the solutions, apply translation procedures and produce a coherent translation of simple literary texts.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Translation problem. Translation procedures: transposition, recasting, paraphrase, negated contrary, translation by a cultural equivalent, generalization, concretization. Distribution of verb tenses in narrative, descriptive and dialogic excerpts from literary texts in English and mother tongue.
    Contents of exercises Text analysis. Discussion about translation problems and the ways they could be resolved. Translation of narrative, descriptive and dialogic excerpts from literary texts.
