A Visit by the US Ambassador

H. E. Christopher Hill, Ambassador of the United States of America to Serbia, visited the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Media Studies. Mr. Hill and his colleagues met with the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ivana Živančević-Sekeruš, Vice-Dean for international cooperation Prof. Dr. Zoran Paunović, and Prof. Dr. Jelena Kleut, Deputy Head of the Department for Media Studies. The guests visited the radio and multimedia TV studio, which was equipped with funds granted by the US Embassy.

Mr. Hill had a chance to talk to the teachers and students about the state of media freedom in Serbia and threats received by journalists, professors and students in Novi Sad. The same topic was discussed between the Ambassador and Prof. Dr. Dinko Gruhonjić from the Department of Media Studies at a separate meeting at the Faculty.

During the visit, Ambassador Hill spoke with Student Vice-Dean, Nemanja Vujić, President of the Student Parliament, Ivana Macak, and SKONUS deputy president, Marko Starović, and gave an interview to "University Echo" –  the student website of the Department of Media Studies.
