MASTER'S ACADEMIC STUDIES
1. Number of available places for student admission
A total of 718 students may enrol at the Faculty, more specifically:
- 319 students whose education is funded by the budget and
- 399 self-financing students
The following number of students can be enrolled in the given degree programmes:

Candidates with disabilities and members of the Roma national minority who enrolled in and completed Bachelor’s Academic Studies through affirmative measures as budget-funded students of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina are entitled to enrol, under affirmative measures, in the first year of budget-funded Master’s Academic Study programmes at the faculties of the University of Novi Sad in the academic year of 2026/2027.
The total number of budget-funded and self-financing students may not exceed the number specified in the operating licence for each study programme, pursuant to Article 99 (1) of the Law on Higher Education. Admission under affirmative measures may reduce the number of self-financing places in certain study programmes.
2. Admission requirements
The following candidates may enroll in the first year of Master’s Academic Study programmes at the Faculty of Philosophy:
- Applicants who have completed an appropriate Bachelor’s Academic Study Programme as specified by the relevant Master’s programme applied for and have obtained at least 240 ECTS credits;
- Applicants who who obtained a higher education degree under the regulations in force prior to the enactment of the Law on Higher Education.
Each study programme determines which undergraduate programmes are considered appropriate for progression to the respective master’s programme.
Candidates who obtained a higher education degree under the regulations in force prior to the enactment of the Law on Higher Education are entitled to enrol in Master's Academic Studies under the conditions prescribed by the Rulebook on Candidate Enrolment in Study Programmes Organised by the Faculty of Philosophy.
Detailed information regarding the implementation of this Call shall be published on the Faculty’s website and notice boards.
3. Entrance Examination:
The entrance exam is taken only for the degree programme of Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting.
Detailed information regarding the content, format, and evaluation of the entrance examination for enrolment in an accredited study programme is published in a dedicated Informational Guide (Informator) and on the Faculty’s website.
4. Admission Schedule:
First Admission Period:
- Application submission: 5–16 October 2026 (applications close at 13:00 on 16 October)
- Entrance examination for the programme Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting: 19 October 2026
- Publication of the preliminary ranking list: 21 October 2026
- Submission of appeals against the published preliminary ranking list: 21 October 2026 (times and schedule will be announced on the website)
- Publication of the final ranking list: 21 October 2026
- Enrolment of admitted applicants: 22–23 October 2026
Second Admission Period
- Publication of vacant budget-funded and self-financing places: 26 October 2026
- Application submission: 27 October 2026 until 13:00
- Entrance examination for the programme Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting: 28 October 2026
- Publication of the preliminary ranking list: 28 October 2026
- Submission of appeals against the published preliminary ranking list: 29 October 2026 (times and schedule will be announced on the website)
- Publication of the final ranking list: 29 October 2026
- Enrolment of admitted applicants: 30 October 2026
5. Documents Required for Application:

- Application form (not required for online applications; the electronic application platform is available on the Faculty website);
- Degree certificate and Diploma Supplement confirming completion of undergraduate (BA) academic studies,
or Certificate of completion of undergraduate academic (BA) studies and transcript of records from previously completed undergraduate studies;
- Transcript of records of optional (facultative) courses;
- Certificate confirming the duration of studies (required for candidates who had an official suspension of student status during their studies – original document);
- Photocopy of an ID card; in case of ID cards with embedded chips, a printout of the electronically read ID card must be submitted);
- Short curriculum vitae;
- Certified curriculum and syllabi for completed courses (for applicants who did not complete their studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad but elsewhere)
- Proof of payment of the application fee (RSD 8,000.00) for all study programmes except Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting
- Proof of payment of the application and entrance examination fee for the programme Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting (RSD 20,000.00).
5a. Documentation Required for Enrolment:
The applicant entitled to enrol, in addition to the submitted photocopies, also submits:
- Two ŠV-20 Forms
- Index booklet (purchased at the Faculty bookshop with a payment slip)
- Two 4.5 x 3.5 cm photographs
- proof of payment of the enrolment fee and the collective students' insurance fee;
- proof of payment of the tuition fee for self-financing students;
All payments are made to the same bank account of the faculty.
NOTE:
By the decision of the Faculty Council, the payment of tuition fees in 4 (four) equal installments was approved according to the following schedule:
- 1st instalment at the time of enrolment
- 2nd instalment by January 10th
- 3rd instalment by March 10th
- 4th installment during the certification of the summer semester
6. Fees
- Application fee: RSD 8,000.00
- Application and examination fee for the study programme of Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting: RSD 20,000,00
- Enrolment and collective insurance fee: RSD 8,500.00
- the First instalment of the tuition fee for self-financing students
7. Ranking Criteria:
Candidates applying for the study programme Conference, Specialized and Audiovisual Interpreting are required to take an entrance examination.
The ranking of applicants for enrolment in the first year of Master's Academic Studies is determined in accordance with the Rulebook on Candidate Enrolment in Study Programmes Organised by the Faculty of Philosophy and the accredited study programme.
The conditions for enrolment in the Master's academic studies are published in the Faculty Informational Guide.
Note: At the same level of studies, a student may enrol as a budget-funded student in the first year of studies only once.
8. Appeals Procedure:
Within 24 hours of the publication of the preliminary ranking list, a candidate may submit an appeal concerning:
- the regularity of the entrance examination procedure established by the Call for Applications; or
- their position on the ranking list.
The appeal is submitted to the Entrance Examination Commission (during the period announced on the Faculty website), on whose proposal the Dean shall issue a decision within 24 hours of receiving the appeal.
9. Admission of Foreign Nationals:
A foreign national may enrol in a study programme under the conditions regulated by the general provisions of the joint call announced by the Ministry of Education.
Foreign nationals are required to take the entrance examination.
Foreign nationals are required to pay tuition fees throughout their education, unless otherwise stipulated by an international agreement or a bilateral university agreement.
A foreign national may enrol in a degree programme if they provide:
- a certificate of Serbian language proficiency in accordance with the Statute of the University, or proficiency of the language of instruction;
- a proof of valid medical insurance.
When applying for the call, foreign nationals are required to submit a validated diploma of their completed Bachelor's degree programme of the same or related field of study.
If the validation procedure is not completed by the application deadline, the applicant may submit a proof that the validation procedure is in progress. If the applicant becomes entitled to enrol and the validation procedure has not been completed, they may enrol conditionally, provided that the recognition decision is submitted before the classes begin.
The applicants from Republika Srpska are exempt from diploma validation requirement.
Prior to enrolment, a foreign applicant is required to submit the following documents the Faculty:
- a proof of valid medical insurance covering the period of the enrolled academic year;
- a certificate of the Serbian language proficiency, issued by an authorized committee.
The assessment of Serbian language proficiency is conducted by the Centre for Serbian as a Foreign Language at the Faculty.
Fees:
- Issuing a certificate of a Serbian language proficiency to students from the former Yugoslav republics (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro): RSD 2,500.00.
- Serbian language proficiency assessment and certificate: RSD 9,000.00.
10. Final Note:
The admission conditions for applicants who are citizens of Montenegro, citizens of the Republic of Serbia who completed their education abroad, members of the Serbian national minority from neighbouring countries, as well as persons with disabilities and members of the Roma national minority shall be regulated by the professional guidelines for implementing the admission procedure and by the general provisions of the joint call issued by the Ministry of Education.
