The Interplay of Language and Marketing - INTERDISCIPLINARY ACTIVITY IN THE MULTICULTAR CONTEXT

There is a remarkable convergence within the intersection between language and marketing. Language as more than a mere vehicle of communication in the world of marketing, it's representing a catalyst for connection and understanding, pivotal for effective marketing strategies.

Notwithstanding, it is crucial to understand a language in marketing since it shapes the brand image, communicates benefits of the product or a service and influence the potential costumer perceptions whilst creating an emotional connection with them. Beyond that, language marks a corporate identity, its tone and style reflect the brand´s values and personality making it stand out from the competitors.

Words symbolize a tool which bridge the gap amongst the cultures, prejudice, and minds, playing an essential role in interpersonal communication and societal contexts. Thus, they demonstrate the power in deep connection to society making it useful for the application in marketing.

While Linguists are concerned about the nature of language and communication, marketers are driven by the understanding of consumers´ phycology. Akin to linguistics, marketing has communication as a key concept recognizing an effective communication strategy as an imperative for the success of a brand. Thus, language and marketing go hand in hand benefiting both positions in many ways (marking has evolved in the presentation and communication of its product values which creates loyal customers, and linguists find new channels to engage in their professional activities).
