    The goal Introducing the history of Hungarian culture with its relevant components, features, phenomena, processes, with special regard to the dual effect system of the nomad and Christian culture area.
    The outcome The students obtain such cultural historical knowledge that makes the complex analyis of the relevant phenomena of the Hungarian cultural and literary history possible.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The basics of cultural history. Nomad culture. Christian culture. Cultural history of medieval Hungarian Kingdom. Renaissance. Emergence and spread of reformation in Hungary. Intellectual trend and art of Hungarian baroque. The century of enlightenment. National culture in the 19thcentury: reforms, ideas, art. Processes of the Hungarian culture after 1867. Transition to the 20thcentury: Art Nouveau. Imprints of the European avant-garde in the Hungarian cultural history. Elements of the modern and contemporary (postmodern) Hungarian culture. Aristocratic, noble, middle-class, and folk culture. The role of Christianity, its effect to the development of the Hungarian school reform. Art (architecture, painting, sculpture, music, literature). Relations and contacts of the Hungarian and the Vojvodinan Hungarian cultures.
    Contents of exercises Short reports (presentations) of the students on the sub-questions of Hungarian cultural history. Remark, dialogue, debate.
